Dawn Guglielmo is a candidate for Bronx Civil Court Judge, endorsed by BronxDems, Ben Franklin Reform Democrat Club and Liberty Democratic Association.  Born in a blue-collar family with roots in New York City public service, Dawn graduated from New York City’s public school system and had a unique journey to law school. She holds an A.A.S. and B.S. from the Fashion Institute of Technology, after which she spent some years working in the garment industry before being called to her legal path where she wanted to serve the community. She graduated from Jacob D. Fuchsberg’s Touro Law Center, magna cum laude, in 2005. After law school, Dawn served in the Bronx as an Assistant District Attorney, where she handled a high caseload of various criminal matters, including serious felony crimes and conducted trials. She later served as an administrative hearing officer with the Department of Education in their Bronx office and as Senior Counsel in a specialized civil defense unit for the New York City Law Department’s Bronx cases. Dawn has spent the last four years expanding her legal expertise by adding family law and complex medical malpractice litigation to her repertoire as a Principal Court Attorney in Bronx County Family Court and Bronx County Supreme Court. She also serves on the Community Education Council for Bronx School District 11, is a member of various bar associations, including being a Board member for both the Bronx Women’s Bar and Bronx County Bar Associations. 

 

Dawn has spent the majority of her legal career serving the community and is dedicated to the fair administration of justice. She will bring her unique life and professional experiences to her work as an impartial, respectful, and compassionate judge. Dawn began her judicial campaign with the support of the community and endorsements from The Bronx County Democratic County Committee and The Ben Franklin Democratic Club, to start. In 2023, Dawn was awarded for her service to the community by Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson.
